Χωρίς να εντυπωσιάσει ο Παναθηναϊκός, πήρε μιας ύψιστης σημασίας νίκη επί της Μπαρτσελόνα που τον ανεβάζει βαθμολογικά και πολύ περισσότερο ψυχολογικά.
Μεγάλη εμφάνιση του Μπουρούση αναφέρουν τα μέσα. Όντως ο Μπούρου έπαιξε 32+ λεπτά καθώς ο Σίνγκλετον δεν ήταν 100% έτοιμος και αγωνίστηκε μολις 20', αρκετά κάτω από το μέσο όρο του. Στέκομαι στο χρόνο συμμετοχής του Μπουρούση γιατί νομίζω είναι και το κλειδί για την αγωνιστική του άνοδο. Ο μέσος χρόνος συμμετοχής του ως τώρα στην Ευρωλίγκα ήταν περίπου 18'. Και πρόπερσι στη Ρεάλ που δεν αγωνιζόταν πολύ, ήταν μέτριος. Πέρσι στη Λαμποράλ που είχε μεγάλο ρόλο-χρόνο συμμετοχής, ήταν αποδοτικός και αποτέλεσε έναν από τους τοπ Σέντερ της σεζόν. Αντίστοιχα και στην εθνική έχει καταλυτικό ρόλο καθώς αγωνίζεται ως βασικός με μεγάλο και ενεργό ρόλο στο παιχνίδι της ομάδας. Που καταλήγουμε...
Ο Μπουρούσης προφανώς είναι παίχτης ρυθμού. Όσο παίζει βελτιώνει την απόδοσή του και βοηθάει περισσότερο την ομάδα. Θα πρέπει ο Πασκουάλ να τον βάλει περισσότερο στο παιχνίδι της ομάδας, εκμεταλλευόμενος τις δυνατότητες του να δημιουργεί και να σκοράρει από το ποστ. Ο Μπουρούσης, όπως και άλλοι Έλληνες (πχ. Παπάς) πρέπει να παίζουν περισσότερο.
Δύσκολο ματς το επόμενο ματς στο Βελιγράδι την Πέμπτη για τους πράσινους κόντρα στο φορμαρισμένο Ερυθρό Αστέρα που το τελευταίο διάστημα κερδίζει μέσα-έξω όπου βρεθεί, έχοντας ενα σερί 6 νικών. Χθες (Τρίτη) έριξε 20άρα μέσα στη Μπασκόνια. Και οι δυο ομάδες είναι στο 11-8 και αυτό δείχνει και την κρισιμότητα του αγώνα για την κούρσα της τελικής κατάταξης.
Αυτό που λείπει από τον Παναθηναϊκό είναι η σταθερότητα και κυρίως η καλή παρουσία στα εκτός έδρας παιχνίδια. Για να δούμε... "Πέμπτη κοντή γιορτή"...
Μετά από 9 συνεχόμενες ήττες στην Ευρωλίγκα τα τελευταία χρόνια, ο Παναθηναϊκός κατάφερε και πήρε τεράστια νίκη στο ΟΑΚΑ, κερδίζοντας την Μπαρτσελόνα με 93-86. Οι πράσινοι έχοντας τους Ραντούλιτσα, Καλάθη και Διαμαντίδη σε πολύ καλή βραδιά, έκαναν το 4-4 στη regular season και πλέον με νίκη επί της Ζιέλονα Γκόρα την επόμενη αγωνιστική στο ΟΑΚΑ έχει σίγουρα περάσει στο Top-16.
Το ματς είχε καταιγιστικό ρυθμό από το ξεκίνημα. Ο Παναθηναϊκός εξαργύρωσε το πολύ καλό ξεκίνημά του και κυρίως το καλό δεύτερο δεκάλεπτο. Οι πράσινοι στο μεγαλύτερο μέρος του παιχνιδιού κυκλοφόρησαν εξαιρετικά τη μπάλα και πέτυχαν ωραία καλάθια παίζοντας γρήγορο μπάσκετ. Πλήγωσε τη Μπάρτσα με το παιχνίδι της. Από τους κορυφαίους και βασικός συντελεστής της νίκης ο αρχηγός 3D, που είχε καιρό να κάνει καλό παιχνίδι. Έβαλε κρίσιμα καλάθια, κέρδισε 8 φάουλ είχε 12/14 βολές.
Ακόμα πιο σημαντική και βοήθεια από τον Καλάθης, ο οποίος αγωνίστηκε 34' και ήταν πέρα από οργανωτικά εξαιρετικός (10 ασ.) και ο 1ος ριμπάουντερ της ομάδας (7 ρ.), πετυχαίνοντας και 9 πόντους. Λατρεύουμε τις εξαιρετικές σκαστές ασίστ του Νικ, μια εξ αυτών προσέφερε ένα εντυπωσιακό highlight με ανάποδο κάρφωμα από τον Πάβλοβιτς.
Ρεκόρ πόντων καριέρας και από τον Ραντούλτσα (25 π.) με εξαιρετικά ποσοστά (8/9 διπ. - 9/9 βολές). Μακράν από τους καλύτερους σέντερ σε ευστοχία βολών. Ο Σέρβος έχει ένα μοναδικό χάρισμα... Έχει απίστευτη επαφή με το καλάθι και μπορεί να σκοράρει με κάθε τρόπο. Δεν κατάφερε να τον σταματήσει ουδείς από τους ψηλούς της Μπαρτσελόνα.
Η Μπαρτσελόνα έδειξε σαστισμένη, ή έτσι την έκανε τουλάχιστον να μοιάζει ο Παναθηναϊκός και αυτή ήταν και η επιτυχία του Τζόρτζεβιτς, που την κέρδισε με γρήγορο μπάσκετ. Η ομάδα δείχνει να βρίσκει ταυτότητα στο παιχνίδι της και να βελτιώνεται από ματς σε ματς. Παίζει καλύτερα, έχει πλουραλισμό (σήμερα δεν τράβηξαν Φώτσης ή Φελντέιν, αλλά έκανε χρήση των υπόλοιπων "όπλων"), έχει πάθος, τρέχει, πιέζει.
Τα ποσοστά του Παναθηναϊκού ήταν εξαιρετικά. Και δε χρησιμοποίησε το μεγάλο όπλο του (τρίποντο) αλλά πλήγωσε τους Καταλανούς μέσα στη ρακέτα. Stats don't lie, μς 25 ασίστ -8 λάθη.

Diamantidis, Raduljica lead Panathinaikos past Barcelona.
In a battle of Turkish Airlines Euroleague giants, Panathinaikos Athens took a critical step towards to the Top 16 by downing FC Barcelona Lassa 93-86 in the Greek capital on Friday. Panathinaikos improved to 4-4 in Group C and broke its nine-game losing streak against already-qualified Barcelona, which dropped to 6-2. Miroslav Raduljica led the winners with a Euroleague career-high 25 points on 8-of-9 two-point shooting and 9-of-9 free throws. Dimitris Diamantidis had a season-high 20 points, James Gist added 10 while Nick Calathes dished 10 assists for Panathinaikos. Alex Abrines led Barcelona with a career-high 21 points. Stratos Perperoglou added 13 while Ante Tomic had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Raduljica shined early and a layup by Gist gave the Greens a 13-10 lead. Tomic and Abrines stepped up for Barcelona to put the guests ahead, 21-22, after 10 minutes. Raduljica remained unstoppable throughout the second quarter. Panathinaikos kept excelling on defense and a floater by Vladimir Jankovic made it a double-digit game, 45-35, at halftime. A three-pointer by Diamantidis made it a 16-point game, late in the third quarter. An outstanding Perperoglou brought Barcelona as close as 82-78 with two minutes left but a critical three-pointer by James Feldeine and free throws by Raduljica and Gist sealed the outcome down the stretch.
First quarter: Abrines puts Barceona ahead
Juan Carlos Navarro got Barcelona going with a driving layup, as the guests held Panathinaikos scoreless for more than two minutes. Calathes stepped up with a mid-range jumper, which Ante Tomic erased with a layup. Ognjen Kuzmic shined with a put-back basket and a jump hook by Raduljica gave the Greens their first lead, 6-4. Tomas Satoransky made free throws and erased Raduljica's one-handed jumper with a layup for an 8-8 tie. After Calathes split free throws, Abrines shined with a fast break slam. Raduljica hit foul shots and a layup by James Gist gave Panathinaikos a 13-10 lead. Satoransky fed Tomic for a backdoor layup, which Abrines followed with a corner triple to put Barcelona back ahead. Nikos Pappas nailed a turnaround jumper, but Tomic dunked. A three-point play by Raduljica put the Greens back ahead, 18-17. Carlos Arroyo buried a big triple and Abrines made free throws, but Diamantidis and Vladimir Jankovic brought Panathinaikos within 21-22 after 10 minutes.
Second quarter: Greens surge ahead
Both teams struggled to score early in the quarter until Diamantidis made free throws. Antonis Fotsis soon added a reverse layup for a 25-22 Panathinaikos lead. Arroyo took over with a driving layup, which Raduljica matched with a close basket. Fotsis struck from downtown to boost the hosts' lead to 30-24. Barcelona could not find the way to the basket until Sasha Vezenkov stepped up with a corner three-pointer. Panathinaikos kept running its offense through Raduljica, who followed a layup with a six-meter jumper, which caused Barcelona to stop the game at 34-27. Pau Ribas hit a technical free throw and Perperoglou buried a triple to bring Barcelona within 3. Gist ignited the crowd with a one-handed slam, which James Feldeine followed with free throws to extend the Greens' margin to 7. Diamantidis, Justin Doellman and Pappas all made free throws. Then Shane Lawal took over with a tip-in and a floater by Jankovic fixed the halftime score at 45-35.
Third quarter: Barcelona tries, Panathinaikos keeps lead
Gist shined with a dunk right after the break and Calathes added a fast break layup, wfter which Barcelona called timeout at 49-35. Doellman swished a mid-range jumper, which Gist erased with a one-handed slam. Tomic split free throws and a reverse dunk by Sasha Pavlovic brought the crowd to its feet at 53-37. After Arroyo made free throws, Raduljica scored again and a three-pointer by Abrines gave Barcelona hope at 55-42. Abrines and Samardo Samuels combined for 6 free throws to bring the guests within single digits, 56-48. Diamantidis hit foul shots, but Abrines shined with a driving layup. A three-pointer by Pavlovic gave Panathinaikos some fresh air at 61-50. Pavlovic made free throws and a catch-and-shoot triple by Diamantidis made it a 16-point game. Satoransky provided a highlight with a fast break dunk and Abrines followed free throws with a buzzer-beating three-pointer that carried Barcelona within 66-57 through three quarters.
Fourth quarter: Diamantidis wins it for Greens
Perperoglou, now playing power forward, struck from downtown early in the quarter, but Calathes quickly answered with a corner triple for a 69-60 lead. Shane Lawal followed an alley-oop dunk with a tip-in that saw Panathinaikos call timeout at 69-64. Raduljica hit free throws and Perperoglou buried one from way beyond the arc to bring the guests as close as 71-67. Brad Oleson joined the three-point shootout. Raduljica and Perperoglou traded foul shots and a layup by Diamantidis restored a 75-72 Panathinaikos lead. Raduljica shined with a backdoor slam, Perperoglou scored down low and an eight-meter bomb by Diamantidis boosted the hosts' lead to 80-74. Diamantidis and Tomic traded free throws and Doellman kept Barcelona within 82-78 with under 2 minutes left. Feldeine and Navarro exchanged three-pointers, but free throws by Raduljica and Gist sealed the outcome, 89-81, already in the final minute.
Πολύ δυνατός στο ξεκίνημα ο Παναθηναϊκός, αποφασισμένος να κερδίσει το ματς. Παίρνει το 1ο δεκάλεπτο με 21-16 και βασικούς του Σλότερ, Διαμαντίδη, Γιάνκοβιτς, Γκιστ και Μπατίστα. Σημείο κλειδί για την καλή παρουσία των πρασίνων στο ματς ήταν ο Μπατίστα που απασχόλησε αρκετά τους ψηλούς της Μπαρτσελόνα.
Στα τέλη του 1ου-αρχές 2ου δεκαλέπτου που έγιναν αλλαγές λόγω κόπωσης, είχαν ως αποτέλεσμα ο Παναθηναϊκός να χάσει τη χημεία του και δεχόμενος 26 πόντους στο 2ο δεκάλεπτο (ενώ σκόραρε μόλις 11), ήταν και ο κύριος παράγοντας της ήττας, καθώς δεν μπόρεσε να ξαναμπεί μπροστά στο σκορ.
Ο Παππάς δεν μπόρεσε να περιορίσει το Ναβάρο που "σκότωσε" με τα σουτ του τον Παναθηναϊκό (δεν είναι να τον αφήσεις να βάλει τα 2-3 πρώτα...). Ακόμα και ο Αμπρίνες πήρε τον αέρα του Γιάνκοβιτς και έκανε τη ζημιά στους πράσινους.
Βλέποντας τον Γιάνκοβιτς να έχει χάσει την ψυχραιμία του και το καθαρό μυαλό, όταν έκανε το 3ο του φάουλ έπρεπε να τον βγάλει ο Ιβάνοβιτς για να φρεσκάρει (πνευματικά) την ομάδα.
Επίσης ο Νέλσον ως αλλαγή του Διαμαντίδη, δεν οργάνωσε καλά το παιχνίδι. Ξέρουν και οι αντίπαλοί του ότι δεν είναι καλός σουτέρ και το αφήνουν στις περιστροφές ελεύθερο. (Χαρακτηριστική η τελευταία κρίσιμη επίθεση στο ματς του Παναθηναϊκού που έφτασε η μπάλα στα χέρια του και έχοντας το - σχετικά - ελεύθερο τρίποντο το φοβήθηκε και έχασε τη μπάλα από τα χέρια του) Ίσως θα μπορούσε να χρησιμοποιεί και λίγο τον Μποχωρίδη ο Ιβάνοβιτς να δει πως θα τα πάει.
Η 2η 5αδα λοιπόν έχασε το ρυθμό που είχε ο Παναθηναϊκός στο 1ο δεκάλεπτο. Αντίθετα η Μπάρτσα με τα εύστοχα σουτ βρήκε ρυθμό. Έδειξε ανώτερη ομάδα. Ήταν πολύ ενεργητική και στην άμυνα και στην επίθεση, πίεσε τον Παναθηναϊκό και τον οδήγησε σε λάθη. Τα άσχημα νταμπλ τιμ και τις αργές περιστροφές στην άμυνα του Παναθηναϊκού διαβάζει σωστά η Μπάρστα τελειώνοντας τις φάσεις και πληγώνοντας τους πράσινους.
Το ημίχρονο έκοψε το ρυθμό της Μπαρτσελόνα, υπέπεσε σε λάθη και ο Παναθναϊκός μείωσε τη διαφορά που είχε φτάσει ως και στο +12.
Κράτησε και πάλι την ίδια 5αδα για 8 περίπου λεπτά ο Ιβάνοβιτς. Μετά την άλλαξε σταδιακά αυτή τη φορά. Ευτυχώς βελτιώθηκε ο Νέλσον και ανέβασε την ομάδα. Ο Γκιστ έδωσε ενέργεια που δεν έπαιξε πολύ στο 1ο ημίχρονο κερδίζοντας και αρκετά φάουλ από τους Καταλανούς.
Δεν μπορεί όμως να φτάσει την Μπαρτσελόνα κυρίως λόγω της κακής αμυντική του λειτουργίας. Αφήνει στις περιστροφές τα σουτ και τα τρώει. Ευτυχώς βγήκε ο Pleiss με 5 φάουλ που ήταν ασταμάτητος από του "πράσινους" αμυντικούς. Έκανε φοβερά πικ εν ρολ με τον Ουέρτας. Αντίθετα ο Τόμιτς δε βοήθησε πολύ στο σκοράρισμα την Μπαρτσελόνα. Τους πράσινους "σκότωσε" ακόμα και ο Ντόλεμαν με 21 π. που έβαλε τα κρίσιμα ελεύθερα σουτ.
Τελευταία 3 λεπτά έγιναν διαγωνισμός τριπόντων καθώς επήλθε σωματική και πνευματική κούραση στους παίκτες και των δύο ομάδων. Η Μπαρτσελόνα διατηρεί ένα σταθερό προβάδισμα 5 πόντων που δεν καταφέρνει ποτέ ο Παναθηναϊκός να τη φτάσει, λόγω αστείων λαθών που χάνει τσάμπα κατοχές.
Με δυο σερί κρίσιμα τρίποντα από Σλοτερ και Γκιστ το -8 το κάνει -2. Αλλά το μοιραίο λάθος από το Νέλσον που χάνει την μπάλα από τα χέρια του (δεν ήταν σίγουρος τι ήθελε να κάνει) και κάνει κακή πάσα στον Γκιστ που του φεύγει και αυτού με τη σειρά του από τα χέρια δίνοντας την κατοχή στους Καταλανούς.
Ούτε το μοναδικό off-balance τρίποντο του Διαμαντίδη στη συνέχεια με ταμπλό δε στάθηκε ικανό να ανατρέψει την κατάσταση. Τελικό σκορ 77-81.

Ο Ιβάνοβιτς σαφώς και χάλασε τη χημεία της ομάδας με το rotation που επέλεξε να κάνει. Δείχνει και να ξεχνάει παίχτες στον πάγκο. Άφησε τον Γκιστ εκτός πολύ στο 1ο ημίχρονο, ξέχασε τον Γιανκοβιτς στο 2ο...
Μετά και την αποψινή ήττα του από την Μπαρτσελόνα, ο Παναθηναϊκός, όπως είχαμε επισημάνει και σε προηγούμενες αναρτήσεις, ουσιαστικά θα παλέψει για την 3η-4η θέση, καθώς δεν τον ευνοεί και πρόγραμμά του πολύ.

FC Barcelona climbs into second place by stopping Panathinaikos
FC Barcelona took the lead for good in the final minute of the first half and held off Panathianikos’s second-half rallies for a 77-81 victory at Olympic Sports Center Athens on Thursday. The win lifted Barcelona to 6-3 and into a tie with Maccabi Electra for second place. Barcelona hosts Maccabi next week. Panathinaikos dropped to 5-4 and sits in fourth place in Top 16 Group E. Justin Doellman posted 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners, while Juan Carlos Navarro scored 17 and Tibor Pleiss netted 15 in as many minutes before fouling out. Esteban Batista posted 16 points and 9 rebounds, James Gist scored 14 and Dimitris Diamantidis totalled 12 points and 6 assists for the Greens. Batista helped stake the hosts to an early lead, but Alex Abrines scored 8 points and Tomas Satoransky delivered 4 assists in a 0-12 run to end the first half with Barcelona ahead 32-42. Panathinaikos got within 2 in both the third and fourth quarters, but Barcelona always had an answer as it held on for the victory.
First quarter: Batista helps Greens take charge early
Panathinaikos won the opening tip and struck first through a Gist three-pointer. After a pair of rejections from Vlantimir Giankovits and Batista, Ante Tomic split free throws for the visitors’ first point. Batista went to work inside with a pair of baskets inside to make it 7-1. Doellman’s offensive rebound set up Satoransky for a Barcelona three. After Gist scored for the Greens inside, Doellman scored and was fouled. Batista scored a second-chance basket and Doellman drilled a three to make it 11-9. Batista and Diamantidis re-extended the Greens’ advantage to 6. Pleiss came in for the visitors and Satoransky immediately found him for a slam, but Antonis Fotsis dunked and was fouled by Pleiss at the other end. Navarro drained an open three in transition. Fotsis quickly answered with a jumper. Pleiss and Fotsis made free throws and Loukas Mavrokefalides’s tip in was ruled to com after the buzzer, leaving the score 21-16 after 10 minutes.
Second quarter: Abrines, Satoransky turn things around with 0-12 run
Pleiss scored inside to start the quarter and Navarro’s floater cut the difference to 1. After Nikos Pappas sank free throws, Navarro tied the game at 23-23 with a three-pointer. Marcelinho Huertas banked in a second-chance opportunity to give Barcelona its first lead. Gani Lawal tied it with a slam, but Navarro was left open and punished the hosts with another three. Pappas answered with a jumper before throwing a pass to Lawal for an alley-oop as the Greens wrested the lead back, 29-28, midway through the quarter. Nearly two minutes passed without a point from either team until Doellman sank free throws. A.J. Slaughter buried a three-pointer, but Abrines – after missing a three-pointer – stole the rebound from Giankovits and scored a layup to make it 32-32. Tomic finally scored his first basket and made it a three-point play. Abrines added a tough layup and a triple, which were both assisted by Satoransky. The Barcelona point guard found Tomic for a slam to make it 12 unanswered points to end the half with the visitors up 32-42.
Third quarter: Hosts chip away at the deficit
Gist opened the second half with 2 free throws for the hosts. Doellman drained a three only to see Slaughter match him. Tomic scored thanks to a well-placed pass from Brad Olson. Diamantidis sank a pair of free throws as the difference remained in the 8-10 point range. Satoransky’s layup was matched by Batista. Diamantidis fed Batista for a reverse layup that made it 43-49 midway through the quarter. After a timeout, Panathinaikos attacked again as Diamantidis’s steal set up a Gist slam. The Greens’ playmaker added free throws to cap an 8-0 run that brought his team within 2. Marcelinho Huertas ran the pick-and-roll with Pleiss, who finished with a slam. Deshaun Thomas made it 47-53 with an offensive rebound, basket and foul. Pappas scored a tough layup to keep it close, but Pleiss answered with a jump hook. DeMarcus Nelson muscled his way to a three-point play with 20.3 seconds left in the quarter. Pleiss’s dunk in the closing seconds of the quarter made it 52-57.
Fourth quarter:
Gist assisted to Batista for a layup, but Marcelinho Huertas fed Pleiss for a monster slam and foul to make it 54-60. Batista drew Pleiss’s fourth foul and sank 2 free throws. Doellman hit a jumper and Panathinaikos coach Ivanovic was called for a technical foul. Navarro made the free throw for a 56-63 lead. Pleiss fouled out with seven minutes to go and Gist made the resulting foul shots. Doellman matched him at the other end. After Nelson assisted Fotsis, Doellman and Diamantidis swapped threes to make it 63-68 with less than five minutes to go. Abrines knocked down 2 free throws and Nelson spun for a tough basket. The teams continued to trade points as Doellman hit a long jumper and Nelson converted 2 free throws. Diamantidis came up with a huge rejection of Tomic. Navarro nailed a three, but Slaughter did the same. The arena erupted when Gist drilled a three with 1:34 remaining to make it 73-75. Doellman banked in a tough shot to make it a two-possession game. Fotsis split free throws with 57.5 seconds to go. After Doellman missed a tough jumper, Panathinaikos turned it over. Navarro iced the victory with a pair of free throws with 10.9 seconds on the clock. Diamantidis managed to bank in a lucky three, but Satoransky’s free throws ended the game.
Τη 2η σερί ήττα του στο Top-16 έκανε ο Παναθηναϊκός, χάνοντας από τη Μπαρτσελόνα με 56-63. Πολύ καλοί οι Διαμαντίδης, Λάσμε και Ματσιούλις. Τον πρόδωσε η ανυπαρξία επιθετικού πλάνου στην επίθεση, καθώς έπαθε το βραχυκύκλωμα της 1ης φάσης, λες και ξαφνικά ξέχασε τα "όπλα" που απόκτησε στο Top-16, όπως το ποστάρισμα στη ρακέτα κλπ. Χαρακτηριστικά πικ εν ρολ Διαμντίδη με Λάσμε θυμάμαι μόλις ένα (στην αρχή του 3ου). Αλλά όταν παίζεις με αντιπάλους επιπέδου Μπαρτσελόνα, πρέπει να βγάλεις και έναν άσσο από το μανίκι. Οι Καταλανοί ήταν αρκετά καλά διαβασμένοι και έκλεισαν όλα αυτά τα προαναφερθέντα όπλα, με αποτέλεσμα ο Παναθηναϊκός να στηριχτεί (δυστυχώς) στα τρίποντα. Πολλά από αυτά ήταν ελεύθερα και στο 1ο ημίχρονο μπήκαν. Έτσι έμεινε κοντά στο σκορ. Στο 2ο που επήλθε και η κούραση και η ψυχολογική πίεση του "άντε να μπει να τους φτάσουμε" δε βοήθησε και τα σουτ χάθηκαν. Φάνηκε να μένει και από δυνάμεις αφού ο Διαμαντίδης έκανε ότι μπορούσε.
Ο coach Πεδουλάκης στα προηγούμενα ματς άνοιξε το rotation με θετικά αποτελέσματα. Σήμερα το φοβήθηκε. Πρέπει να εμπιστευτεί πιο πολύ και τους υπόλοιπους παίκτες του, γιατί ακόμα και αν δεν παίζουν την άμυνα που θέλει, η φρεσκάδα, η ώθηση και το καθαρό μυαλό που θα δώσουν ερχόμενοι από τον πάγκο σίγουρα θα βοηθήσουν την ομάδα. Βλέπεις ότι έχεις κολλήσει στο σκορ και παρόλο που παίζεις σκληρή άμυνα (και από 44 που έφαγες στο 1ο, έφαγες 19 στο 2ο), βάλε τον Κάρι 5-10 λεπτά παραπάνω να σου δώσει πόντους (αφού βλέπεις κι ότι ο Ούκιτς δεν τραβάει) αφού στο έχει κάνει στα προηγούμενα ματς κατ' επανάληψη. Του χαλάς έτσι και την ψυχολογία.
Κάπως έτσι χάθηκε το ματς και μια πολύ σημαντική προοπτική: τη νίκη που θα σου έδινε σημαντικό προβάδισμα για τη 2η θέση, γιατί όχι και την πρωτιά στον όμιλο. Τώρα η Μπαρτσελόνα ξέφυγε με 5-0, έχοντας πάρει και 3 σημαντικά διπλά: σε ΟΑΚΑ, ΣΕΦ και Φενέρ.
Στο 1ο δεκάλεπτο η Μπαρτσελόνα μπήκε ζεστή, καλά διαβασμένη, έκλεισε τα ατού του Παναθηναϊκού παίζοντας κλειστή άμυνα μέσα στη ρακέτα. Οι πράσινοι έπεσαν στην παγίδα καθώς βρήκαν εύκολα τα ελεύθερα σουτ. Και ήταν εύστοχοι Έτσι κάλυψαν τη μεγάλη διαφορά που αρχικά είχε πάρει η Μπάρτσα κλείνοντας το δεκάλεπτο με -1 (23-24).
Η Μπαρτσελόνα συνέχισε το πολύ καλό μπάσκετ του 1ου δεκαλέπτου, με τον Παπανικολάου να είναι "καυτός" και επιθετικά έβαλε άλλους 20. Ο Παναθηναϊκός κόλλησε επιθετικά (μόλις 9) και η διαφορά άνοιξε περισσότερο. Σκορ ημιχρόνου 32-44.
Στο 2ο ημίχρονο αποφάσισαν επιτέλους οι Πράσινοι να παίξουν σοβαρή άμυνα και η διαφορά ήταν εμφανής.
Η επιτυχία του Παναθηναϊκού ήταν πως "έσβησε" το Ναβάρο με καλές άμυνες πάνω του, αλλά η ζημιά γενικώς έγινε από αλλού... Ο Ναβάρο δεν αγωνίστηκε πολύ στο 2ο ημίχρονο και γενικά η παρουσία του ήταν κακή (1 π. - 0/3 διπ. - 0/3 τριπ. - 1/2 βολές και αυτή στο τέλος του αγώνα από φάουλ σκοπιμότητας!). Είναι κρίμα όταν κρατάς το Ναβάρο τόσο χαμηλά να χάνεις το ματς.
Η κούραση άρχισε να γίνεται εμφανής στο 4ο δεκάλεπτο και ενώ ο Παναθηναϊκός κρατούσε γερά πίσω στην άμυνα, στην επίθεση σκόραρε πολύ δύσκολα. Ο Λάσμε δεν μπορούσε να παίξει με πλάτη και τα σουτάκια από τα 5 μέτρα τα μισοέχανε, ο Διαμαντίδης ήταν ο μόνος που έμπαινε μέσα και με με ηρωικά drive το πάλευε, ο Γκιστ χαμένος και οι υπόλοιποι ακόμα βαράνε τρίποντα... Τα σουτ εκεί δε βγήκαν και το 56-63 ήρθε φυσιολογικά... Με τέτοιες εμφανίσεις στα ντέρμπι θα έχει πρόβλημα στο Τop-8. Γιατί ένα ματς κρίσιμο μπορεί και να το πάρεις. Τρία όμως για να πας Final 4...;;;

Barcelona beats Panathinaikos for 17th straight Top 16 win
FC Barcelona held Panathinaikos without a basket for the final six minutes in claiming a 56-63 road win over the Greens at the Olympic Sports Center in Athens. The victory kept Coach Xavi Pascual’s squad as the Euroleague’s only unbeaten team through five Top 16 games. Barcelona also tied its own record with 17 consecutive Top 16 wins and set a new mark with nine consecutive Top 16 road win. Marcellinho Huertas shined early as the visitors used a 0-12 run between the first and second quarters to take the lead for good. The lead peaked at 13 before Panathinaikos used defense to rally in the second half. However, despite limiting Barca to 19 second-half points, the Greens scored only 2 in the final six minutes after closing within 5. Marcelinho Huertas led Barcelona with 17 points and Kostas Papanikolaou added 14. Dimitris Diamantidis and Stephane Lasme led Panathinaikos with 13 points apiece. Lasme also grabbed 8 rebounds; Diamantidis dished 5 assists and grabbed 3 steals. Jonas Maciulis added 11 points in defeat.
First quarter: Marcelinho leads Barca to strong start
Lasme scored the first basket for the hosts. Erazem Lorbek got the visitors on the scoreboard. The Panathinaikos fans booed in unison when Papanikolaou dunked for the visitors. Ante Tomic scored inside before dishing to Papanikolaou. Huertas’s layup capped a 0-10 Barcelona run. After a timeout, Lasme scored again for the Greens, but the hosts kept the pressure on. Lorbek scored on the offensive glass and Huertas drilled a three to make it 4-15. Diamantidis looked to change things; first he scored and then set up Roko Ukic for a layup. Maciulis brought the Greens within 4 only to see Huertas match his triple. But Antonis Fotsis sank a three. Huertas’s layup gave him half of Barcelona’s first 20 points. Lasme fought on the offensive glass for a three-point play. Papanikolaou scored again, but threes from Maciulis and Ramel Curry made it 23-22. However Brad Oleson drove to the basket to make it 23-24 after 10 minutes.
Second quarter: A second Barcelona charge gives visitors a cushion
Barcelona pulled away again as Huertas scored three points over two possessions, Bostjan Nachbar added a three and Joey Dorsey slammed home an offensive rebound. Alex Abrines free throws capped a 0-12 Barca charge for a double-digit lead. Diamantidis free throws ended a nearly four-minute long scoring drought for Panathinaikos. A Maciulis steal led to a Mike Bramos slam that made it 27-34 midway through the quarter. Lorbek banked in a three before Diamantidis waged his way inside for a layup. A Papanikolaou triple stretched the Barcelona lead to 29-40. Victor Sada’s floater stretched the lead to 13. Fotsis sank his second three, but Sada darted in for a layup and a 32-44 Bacelona lead at the break.
Third quarter: Diamantidis, defense keeps Greens in the picture
A Diamantidis steal and Bramos three was just the start the hosts needed for the second half. Panathinaikos put James Gist on Marcelinho defensively, which seemed to fluster the visiting attack. Diamantidis fed Lasme for a slam and then penetrated and scored himself to narrow the gap to 5. Barca slowly regained control through baskets by Dorsey (goaltending) and Papanikolaou. Fotsis sank a three from the corner to make it 42-48. Fotsis assisted Lasme for a slam, but Tomic scored at the other end. A Diamantidis three in the final seconds of the quarter drew Panathinaikos within 47-52.
Fourth quarter: Defensive slugfest leaves visitors in front
Oleson beat the 24-second clock with a three from the top of the key, but a Lasme jump hook kept Panathinaikos close. Diamantidis twisted his body into knots as he penetrated to make it 51-55. Huertas struck back quickly for Barcelona; he penetrated for a layup before Oleson’s steal left Marcelinho for a floater. Maciulis’s third three of the night was wiped away by a Papanikolaou three that made it 54-62 midway through the quarter. There was great physicality on both ends, but the result was no baskets for two and a half minutes. Maciulis free throws made it a two-possession game. But turnovers and missed shots summed up the final two minutes and the Greens never got closer than 6 as Barcelona held on for victory.
